Description

The holiday season brings joy, warmth, and, of course, delicious flavors that evoke the spirit of Christmas. One such delightful treat is Christmas Eggnog Bread, a moist and warmly spiced loaf that captures the essence of the holidays. With hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, and the creamy richness of eggnog, this bread is a festive favorite perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon nutmeg

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup eggnog

½ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together eggnog, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using freshly grated nutmeg.

If desired, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for an extra festive touch.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
