Description

Soft, buttery Cinnamon Bread swirled with a rich cinnamon-sugar filling. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or as a comforting anytime treat. Easy-to-make and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

For the Dough:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

For the Cinnamon Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tbsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

For the Optional Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough:
    • Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
    • Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth, or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5–6 minutes.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Assemble the Bread:
    • Roll the risen dough into a 9×15-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
    • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the butter, leaving a 1-inch border.
    • Roll the dough tightly into a log from the short end and pinch the seam to seal.
    • Place the log seam-side down in the prepared pan, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Bake the Bread:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
    • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Optional Glaze:
    • Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread.

Notes

For extra flavor, add nuts, raisins, or even chocolate chips to the filling.

Let the bread cool fully before adding glaze to avoid melting.

Use fresh yeast for best results, and ensure milk is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
