Description

These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and indulgent breakfast treat made with soft bread filled with sweetened cream cheese and rolled up for a crispy, golden finish. Coated in a cinnamon-sugar mixture, they offer the perfect balance of creamy, crispy, and sweet flavors. Easy to make and perfect for brunch or a weekend breakfast, these roll-ups are a crowd-pleasing twist on classic French toast.

Ingredients

8 slices of bread

½ cup cream cheese, softened

½ cup powdered sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 large eggs

¼ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Butter, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin to make rolling easier.
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread, then roll tightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. In another dish, mix ground cinnamon and granulated sugar for the coating.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  7. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then cook in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Roll the cooked roll-ups in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and serve warm.

Notes

You can use different types of bread such as brioche, challah, or whole wheat.

For a dairy-free version, substitute with dairy-free cream cheese and plant-based milk.

To prepare in advance, store un-cooked roll-ups in the fridge and cook when ready.

These roll-ups can be frozen after cooking and then reheated in a skillet for a crispy result.
