1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup warm whole milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Shape the Bread:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle (about 1/2 inch thick).
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll tightly, jelly-roll style, and pinch to seal.
- Shape into a loaf and place in a greased 9×5-inch pan.
Second Rise and Bake:
- Cover the loaf pan with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Coat with Cinnamon Sugar:
- Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for coating.
- After baking, let bread cool for 5 minutes. Brush top with melted butter and coat generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve:
Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
