Ingredients

2 1/2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup brewed strong coffee

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) unflavored gelatin

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over the whole milk in a small bowl and let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Heat the Cream: In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, brewed coffee, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  3. Combine: Add the bloomed gelatin mixture to the hot cream mixture and whisk until completely dissolved. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour and Chill: Pour the mixture into ramekins or serving glasses. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  5. Serve: Serve chilled, garnished with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or caramel.

Notes

Use freshly brewed strong coffee for the best flavor.
