Description

Enjoy a hearty and easy-to-make breakfast with this Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole! Featuring flaky crescent roll dough, savory breakfast sausage, eggs, and melted cheese, this casserole is perfect for weekend brunch or as a make-ahead option for busy mornings. Quick to prepare and delicious, it’s a family favorite that brings comfort to your breakfast table.

Ingredients

1 can (8 ounces) crescent roll dough

1 pound breakfast sausage

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Roll Base: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together.
  4. Assemble the Casserole: Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the crescent roll crust.
  5. Mix the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Add Cheese and Bake: Pour the egg mixture over the sausage, then sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For a crispier crust, pre-bake the crescent roll base for 5-7 minutes before adding the filling.

This casserole can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight. Simply bake it in the morning.

Customize with vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition.
