Ingredients
For the Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons water
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons black pepper
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons baking powder
Oil for frying
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil
3–4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Slice chicken breasts into strips.
- Whisk together eggs and water in one dish, and mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and baking powder in another.
- Dip chicken strips into the flour mixture, then egg mixture, and again into the flour mixture.
- Fry the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry chicken strips in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine and Serve:
- Toss fried chicken strips in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional black pepper if desired.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce.
Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
