Description

Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken is a delicious and satisfying dish featuring crispy, double-coated chicken breasts tossed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a family dinner, this recipe combines the crunchiness of fried chicken with the rich flavors of honey and garlic.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 large eggs

4 tablespoons water

2 cups all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons salt

4 teaspoons black pepper

2 tablespoons garlic powder

2 tablespoons onion powder

2 teaspoons paprika

2 teaspoons baking powder

Oil for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

2 tablespoons olive oil

34 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Slice chicken breasts into strips.
    • Whisk together eggs and water in one dish, and mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and baking powder in another.
    • Dip chicken strips into the flour mixture, then egg mixture, and again into the flour mixture.
  2. Fry the Chicken:
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Fry chicken strips in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
    • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, and black pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Toss fried chicken strips in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
    • Serve immediately, garnished with additional black pepper if desired.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce.

Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
