Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chicken broth (for moistening stuffing)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the stuffing mix with chicken broth and stir to moisten. Set aside.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth. Pour evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Spread the prepared stuffing over the chicken and sauce layer.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the top is golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For extra moist stuffing, you can add a bit more chicken broth.
Add vegetables like peas or carrots to the casserole for added nutrition.
Freezing Tip: To freeze leftovers, let the casserole cool completely, then cover tightly with plastic wrap and foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight and bake at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.
