Description

A smooth, rich, and slightly tangy frosting that is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, or any sweet dessert. It’s easy to make and has a velvety texture with the perfect balance of sweetness and tang.

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk (optional, for thinning)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and continue beating until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until incorporated. Once all the sugar is added, increase the speed to medium and beat until smooth.
  4. If you prefer a thinner consistency, slowly add the milk, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired texture.
  5. Use the frosting immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or any of your favorite desserts.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Allow it to come to room temperature before using again.

For a lighter texture, whip the frosting slightly after it reaches room temperature.

If you prefer a less sweet frosting, reduce the powdered sugar to 1 1/2 cups and adjust to taste.

If making ahead, store it in an airtight container in the fridge and use within 3-4 days.

For piping decorations, reduce the milk for a stiffer consistency.
