Description
A quick and flavorful no-cook pizza sauce made with simple pantry staples, delivering rich tomato flavor with classic Italian herbs and garlic in just five minutes.
Ingredients
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste to a medium mixing bowl and stir until completely smooth.
- Mix in the olive oil and minced garlic until well combined.
- Add oregano, basil, onion powder, sugar (if using), salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir thoroughly to distribute the herbs and spices evenly.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
- Use immediately on pizza dough or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Notes
Add a splash of balsamic vinegar for extra depth and tang.
Increase garlic or add garlic powder for stronger garlic flavor.
Add extra red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne for more heat.
Substitute fresh chopped basil for dried basil for a fresher taste.
Blend briefly for a smoother, slightly sweeter sauce.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
No need to pre-cook; the sauce cooks perfectly on the pizza in the oven.
