Description
This Easy Korean Ground Beef Bowl is a quick and flavorful meal made with savory beef, a sweet and garlicky sauce, and warm rice. It is perfect for busy weeknights and simple meal prep.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups cooked white rice
2 green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease if needed.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the beef evenly.
- Spoon the beef mixture over warm cooked white rice.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
Add vegetables such as steamed broccoli, shredded carrots, or sautéed bell peppers for extra nutrition.
For more heat, increase red pepper flakes or add a drizzle of sriracha.
Serve over cauliflower rice for a lower carbohydrate option.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze the beef mixture for up to 2 months.
