Easy Pecan Pralines are a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth Southern candy made with toasted pecans, brown sugar, and cream. They’re simple to prepare, perfect for holidays, gifting, or a quick sweet treat.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pecans on a baking sheet and toast for 5–7 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, and salt. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil.
- Boil for 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in toasted pecans and vanilla extract.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment paper or a silicone mat to form pralines.
- Let cool completely for 30 minutes to 1 hour until firm.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
For a twist, add cinnamon, nutmeg, or drizzle with melted chocolate.
Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
No candy thermometer needed for this recipe.
Toasting pecans enhances flavor, but it’s optional.
