Description

Easy Pecan Pralines are a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth Southern candy made with toasted pecans, brown sugar, and cream. They’re simple to prepare, perfect for holidays, gifting, or a quick sweet treat.

Ingredients

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pecans on a baking sheet and toast for 5–7 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, and salt. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil.
  3. Boil for 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in toasted pecans and vanilla extract.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment paper or a silicone mat to form pralines.
  6. Let cool completely for 30 minutes to 1 hour until firm.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

For a twist, add cinnamon, nutmeg, or drizzle with melted chocolate.

Can be frozen for up to 2 months.

No candy thermometer needed for this recipe.

Toasting pecans enhances flavor, but it’s optional.
