Description

Capture the sweet and tangy essence of summer with this Easy Plum Jam Recipe! Made with fresh plums, sugar, and a hint of lemon, this no-pectin recipe is perfect for spreading on toast, enhancing desserts, or gifting. Ready in under an hour, this homemade jam is simple, customizable, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh plums, pitted and chopped

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Plums
    • Wash, pit, and chop plums into small pieces.
  2. Combine Ingredients
    • In a large saucepan, mix plums, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Cook the Jam
    • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mash or blend for a smoother texture if desired.
  4. Test Consistency
    • Perform the wrinkle test by spooning jam onto a chilled plate. If it wrinkles, it’s ready. Otherwise, cook a few more minutes and test again.
  5. Cool and Store
    • Remove from heat, cool slightly, and transfer to sterilized jars. Seal and let cool completely before refrigerating.

Notes

For a spiced version, add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves or nutmeg.

Try a vanilla-infused variation by adding 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Combine with peaches or berries for a mixed fruit jam.
