Description

Indulge in these crispy, golden Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches! Filled with creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries, this quick and easy dessert or brunch treat is a decadent twist on classic French toast. Perfect for a sweet breakfast, dessert, or special occasion.

Ingredients

For the Cheesecake Filling:

200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened

50 g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup diced fresh strawberries

For the Sandwiches:

8 slices sandwich bread (white or brioche recommended)

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For Topping:

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Extra fresh strawberries or strawberry syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries.
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Spread the filling onto 4 slices of bread.
    • Top with the remaining slices, pressing edges gently to seal. Trim crusts for a neat finish, if desired.
  3. Prepare the Egg Mixture:
In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar (if using), and cinnamon.
  4. Coat the Sandwiches:
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating evenly without soaking too long.
  5. Fry the Sandwiches:
    • Heat about 1 inch of oil in a frying pan over medium heat (175°C/350°F).
    • Fry sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve:
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh strawberries or syrup.

Notes

Substitute strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries for variety.

For a lighter option, bake sandwiches at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.

Use whole-grain bread for a healthier twist.
