Description
These frozen candied grapes are a refreshing, tangy-sweet treat with a crisp candy-like coating. Made with simple ingredients, they are perfect for a light dessert or cooling snack.
Ingredients
4 cups green grapes, cleaned and dried
1 cup granulated monk fruit sweetener
Juice of 2 limes
2 to 3 teaspoons citric acid (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Line a large baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- Rinse the grapes thoroughly and pat them completely dry.
- Place the grapes in a large bowl and pour the freshly squeezed lime juice over them. Stir gently to coat evenly.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 10 minutes to allow the grapes to absorb the citrus flavor.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine the monk fruit sweetener and citric acid, stirring well.
- Remove the grapes from the refrigerator and roll each grape in the sweetener mixture until fully coated.
- Arrange the coated grapes in a single layer on the prepared baking dish.
- Freeze for 2 to 3 hours, or until fully frozen and crisp.
- Serve directly from the freezer for the best texture.
Notes
Red grapes can be used instead of green for a slightly sweeter flavor.
Increase citric acid or add lemon zest for a more intense sour candy taste.
For a double coating, roll the grapes in the sweetener mixture twice before freezing.
Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Keep fully frozen before serving, as grapes soften quickly at room temperature.
