Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs (680g) sirloin steak, cut into thick strips
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Instructions
- Season the steak strips with smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak strips in a single layer and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until a crust forms and the steak reaches desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add unsalted butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes until garlic is fragrant and lightly golden.
- Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
- Return steak strips to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter sauce until well-coated.
- Serve hot with any extra sauce drizzled over the top.
Notes
Adjust salt and pepper according to taste.
For a spicier kick, increase red pepper flakes or add cayenne pepper.
Ensure the steak is not overcrowded in the skillet for even searing.
