Description

Tender strips of steak are tossed with buttery garlic noodles in this quick and flavorful dish. Ready in just 20 minutes, these Garlic Butter Steak Lightning Noodles bring together rich umami flavors with minimal effort—perfect for a restaurant-quality meal at home.

Ingredients

8 oz rice noodles (or spaghetti)

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced

3 tbsp unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 green onions, chopped

1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Add the sliced steak and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, then add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  7. Return the steak to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add extra red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.

Swap steak for tofu or mushrooms for a vegetarian option.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of broth.
