Ingredients
8 oz pasta (such as fettuccine or linguine)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
8 oz cremini or white mushrooms, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are golden brown and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the heavy cream. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the sauce.
- Serve the pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use cremini mushrooms instead of white mushrooms.
You can add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding more or less heavy cream.
