Ingredients
8 oz pasta (spaghetti or preferred type)
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it in the garlic butter mixture.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese and reserved pasta water, tossing to combine. Add more water if needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
Notes
For extra protein, add grilled chicken, shrimp, or bacon.
For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
To make the dish vegan, use vegan butter and plant-based cheese alternatives.
