Ingredients

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add molasses, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually incorporate flour until dough forms. Stir in nuts (if using) and vanilla extract.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Coat in Powdered Sugar:
- Cool cookies for 5 minutes. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
- Once completely cool, roll in powdered sugar again for an extra snowy look.
- Serve:
- Arrange on a platter and enjoy with tea, coffee, or as a festive treat!
Notes
For a nut-free version, omit the nuts.
For richer flavor, use dark molasses or increase the amount slightly.
