Description

Indulge in the ultimate dessert experience with Gooey Bourbon Pecan Pie Brownies. These decadent brownies combine the fudgy richness of a chocolate brownie base with a sweet, nutty, and gooey bourbon pecan pie topping. Perfect for holidays, special occasions, or any time you’re craving a rich, indulgent treat, this easy-to-make dessert is sure to be a hit with family and friends. The optional bourbon adds an extra layer of flavor, but you can substitute with vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version.

Ingredients

Brownie Layer:

1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the box, such as eggs, oil, and water) or your favorite homemade brownie recipe

Pecan Pie Topping:

1 cup pecans, roughly chopped

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup bourbon (optional, or substitute with 1 tablespoon vanilla extract)

1/4 cup butter, melted

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Prepare the brownie mix as instructed (or your homemade recipe). Pour the brownie batter into the pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, until partially set.
  2. Make Pecan Pie Topping: While the brownies bake, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, bourbon (or vanilla), melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl. Stir in chopped pecans.
  3. Add Topping to Brownies: Pour the pecan mixture over the partially baked brownies, spreading it evenly.
  4. Finish Baking: Bake for another 25-30 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and set. The center may be slightly gooey but will firm up as it cools.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing. Serve at room temperature or slightly warm.

Notes

Bourbon Substitute: If you prefer not to use bourbon, vanilla extract will provide a similar depth of flavor.

Storage: Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week. You can freeze them for up to 3 months.

Serving Suggestions: Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
