Description

Refreshing and tangy green tea, lemon, and ginger chews are a healthy, soothing snack packed with antioxidants and digestive benefits. Easy to make and perfect for a light treat!

Ingredients

3/4 cup (180 ml) cold water

5 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder

1/2 cup strongly brewed green tea (4 tea bags)

1/3 cup (80 ml) ginger juice

1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice or preservative-free bottled lemon juice

Optional: honey, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pour the cold water into a medium saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly on top. Let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. Brew the green tea with 4 tea bags, then measure 1/2 cup of strong tea.
  3. Add the brewed tea, ginger juice, and lemon juice to the bloomed gelatin. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin dissolves. Do not boil.
  4. Taste the mixture and add honey, if desired, for sweetness. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a greased baking dish.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  7. Once set, remove the chews from the molds or cut into squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace gelatin with agar-agar and adjust as per package instructions.

Adjust sweetness using maple syrup, agave, or stevia.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
