Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce (or low-sodium alternative)
2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
1 tbsp sesame oil (or neutral oil like vegetable oil)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp honey or sugar (optional)
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, cornstarch, and honey (if using). Set aside.
- Cook the ground beef: Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Sauté aromatics: Add garlic and ginger to the beef. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook the broccoli: Add broccoli florets and cook for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp, adding water to steam if needed.
- Add the sauce: Pour sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir to coat. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
Substitute ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, pork, or plant-based meat.
