Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or penne)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess grease.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta, sour cream, and half the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Layer half the pasta mixture in the baking dish, spread the beef mixture on top, and add the remaining pasta mixture.
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Substitute ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat.
Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
Adjust seasonings to taste, and add spice if preferred.
