Description

Ground Beef Casserole – A hearty and comforting recipe featuring tender pasta, flavorful ground beef, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks, this dish is a family-friendly favorite.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or penne)

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  6. In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta, sour cream, and half the shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Layer half the pasta mixture in the baking dish, spread the beef mixture on top, and add the remaining pasta mixture.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Substitute ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat.

Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.

Adjust seasonings to taste, and add spice if preferred.
