Ingredients

1 ½ cups butter, softened

2 cups white sugar

3 large eggs

3 tsp vanilla extract

1 ½ tsp cornstarch

1 ½ tsp baking soda

¾ tsp salt

2 cups cake flour

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Orange, green, and purple gel food coloring

2 cups white chocolate chips

Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: Whisk together cake flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until combined.
  6. Color the Dough: Divide dough into three parts. Color one portion green, one orange, and one purple. Knead each portion until color is even.
  7. Form Cookies: Scoop 2 teaspoons of each colored dough, press together, and roll into balls. Flatten slightly and roll edges in Halloween sprinkles. Press white chocolate chips into the dough balls.
  8. Chill Dough: Refrigerate the dough balls for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat Oven: Heat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  10. Bake Cookies: Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Color Mixing: For best results, knead the dough gently to avoid blending the colors.

Chilling: Chilling the dough helps maintain cookie shape and prevents spreading.

Substitutions: Feel free to use different types of chocolate chips if preferred.
