With a soft dough and a delectable honey glaze, these buns are sure to become a family favorite. Made from scratch, they’re a comforting way to bring a touch of sweetness to your day.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

1 cup warm milk (110°F)

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Honey Glaze:

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • Combine warm milk and yeast in a small bowl; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
    • In a large bowl, mix sugar, honey, melted butter, and egg. Add yeast mixture and stir.
    • Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Buns:
    • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface into an 18×12-inch rectangle.
    • Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  3. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place buns in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the Honey Glaze:
    • Mix honey, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Glaze and Serve:
    • Drizzle the honey glaze over warm buns and serve.

Notes

Ensure milk is at the correct temperature to activate the yeast without killing it.

For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the rolled-out dough before rolling.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Freeze for longer storage.
