Ingredients

1 cup water

1 black tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf black tea)

1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

12 teaspoons honey or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)

Ice (for iced version)

Instructions

Hot Version:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  2. Add the tea bag and ground cinnamon, reduce heat, and let simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag, then stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Heat until warm, but do not boil.
  4. Pour into a mug, sprinkle with extra cinnamon if desired, and enjoy warm.

Iced Version:

  1. After steeping the tea, let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sweetener.
  3. Pour over a glass filled with ice and stir well.

Notes

Milk Options: Feel free to use dairy or any plant-based milk such as almond, oat, or coconut milk.

Adjusting Sweetness: Start with 1 teaspoon of honey and taste before adding more. You can also use maple syrup, agave, or stevia as alternatives.
