Ingredients
3 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup milk (more as needed)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt to taste
Instructions
- Place peeled and chunked sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until sweet potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter, honey, milk, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Mash with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed and season with additional salt to taste.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve warm, garnished with extra butter and honey if desired.
Notes
For a vegan version, replace butter with plant-based butter and use almond milk.
