Description
Juicy, pan-seared chicken breasts coated in a sticky, sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. A quick and satisfying weeknight dinner made with simple pantry staples in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup all-purpose flour (optional, for light coating)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and pepper. Optionally, lightly coat with flour for a golden crust.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to let the chicken soak up the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness if preferred.
For a gluten-free version, skip the flour or use a gluten-free alternative.
Add more chili flakes or hot sauce for extra heat.
A splash of orange juice adds a citrusy twist to the sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave in short intervals to avoid drying out.
