Ultra-rich and fudgy peanut butter brownies made with wholesome ingredients like oat flour and natural sweeteners. Moist, chocolatey, and optionally dairy-free, these brownies are an indulgent yet feel-good dessert.
Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter (natural or regular)
1/4 cup applesauce or mashed banana
1/2 cup pure maple syrup or honey
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup oat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (or regular)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, stir together the peanut butter, applesauce (or mashed banana), maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and cocoa powder until smooth.
- Add the oat flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly.
- Optional: swirl in an extra tablespoon of peanut butter for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the center is just set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Let the brownies cool completely before slicing for best texture.
Notes
Use almond butter instead of peanut butter for a different flavor.
To keep the recipe vegan, use maple syrup and mashed banana.
Top with extra chocolate chips before baking for more richness.
Stir in chopped peanuts or walnuts for crunch.
Mix dark and semi-sweet chocolate chips for depth of flavor.
Store at room temperature for 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
Reheat in microwave for 10–15 seconds for a warm treat.
Freeze individually wrapped brownies for longer storage.
