Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate Eggs and Extracts: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
- Shape Dough: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and shape into small logs.
- Coat with Sesame Seeds: Roll each log in sesame seeds, pressing gently to adhere.
- Bake: Arrange logs on a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Cool: Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For softer cookies, reduce the baking time by 2-3 minutes.
Use salted butter if desired but omit the added salt.
