Description

Lemon Caper Sauce is a bright, tangy, and savory sauce that combines the fresh zing of lemon with the briny punch of capers. It’s perfect for enhancing dishes like grilled fish, roasted chicken, or steamed vegetables. Ready in just 10 minutes, this simple yet flavorful sauce brings a burst of freshness to any meal, making it an ideal choice for busy weeknights or whenever you want to elevate your cooking.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons capers, drained

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.

  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and capers, and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and thicken slightly.

  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.

  6. Serve immediately over grilled fish, roasted chicken, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

Storage/Reheating: Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat gently over low heat and add extra butter or olive oil to loosen it up if it thickens.

Substitutions: Use green olives or pickles if you don’t have capers, and substitute dried parsley for fresh if needed. For a dairy-free option, swap butter with a plant-based butter substitute.
