Description

Indulge in the warmth of autumn with these delectable Maple Brown Sugar Cookies. Rich with the flavors of brown sugar and maple syrup, these cookies are a perfect treat for cozy gatherings or a comforting afternoon snack. Easy to make and even easier to enjoy, they embody the essence of fall in every soft, chewy bite.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Granulated sugar, for rolling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Optionally, chill dough for 30-60 minutes if too soft to handle.
  7. Roll tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar if desired.
  8. Place dough balls on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Centers may appear soft but will firm as they cool.
  10. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a sparkly finish, roll dough balls in granulated sugar before baking.

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
