Ingredients
For the cheese ball mixture:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
2–3 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or dill)
For the coating:
1 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
1 cup chopped fresh herbs (optional)
½ cup crispy bacon bits (optional)
Instructions
- Combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, Parmesan, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Chill the cheese mixture for 30 minutes.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon portions of the cheese mixture and roll them into balls.
- Prepare coatings by placing nuts, herbs, and bacon bits in separate bowls.
- Roll each cheese ball in your desired coating(s), pressing gently to adhere.
- Arrange on a platter and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve with crackers, bread, or vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix different cheeses like Gouda or pepper jack.
Sweet coatings like dried cranberries or crushed pretzels offer a unique twist.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze uncoated cheese balls for a month.
