Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 22-25 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are set. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Quick oats can be used in place of rolled oats for a softer texture.
