Indulge in the ultimate chocolate treat with these Oatmeal Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. Soft and chewy, these cookies are packed with double the chocolate chips and the wholesome goodness of old-fashioned oats. Perfect for any chocolate lover, they offer a delightful balance of rich chocolate flavor and hearty oatmeal texture in every bite.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, room temperature

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 cups old-fashioned oatmeal (uncooked)

2 packages milk chocolate chips (11.5 oz each)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
  5. Add Oats and Chocolate Chips: Stir in the oatmeal and milk chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake: Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on the cookie sheet for 1-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, do not overbake. Remove them from the oven when they are just starting to turn golden.

Ensure the butter is at room temperature for the best texture in your cookies.
