Ingredients

1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 cups diced peaches (fresh or canned)

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Powdered sugar for dusting

Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  2. Add the bread cubes to the mixture, stirring gently to coat. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine diced peaches, brown sugar, and ground nutmeg. Stir to mix well.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
  5. Fill each muffin cup halfway with the soaked bread mixture.
  6. Add a spoonful of the peach mixture to each cup, then top with more bread mixture.
  7. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of each muffin cup.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the French toast bites are golden brown and set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

Ensure the bread cubes are soaked well to achieve a moist texture.

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to taste preference.

Use fresh peaches when in season for the best flavor, but canned peaches work well too.
