Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (one packet)

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water (110°F)

2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, roll it out to your desired thickness, and transfer it to a pizza pan.
  6. Add your preferred toppings and bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.

For a crispier crust, preheat your baking sheet or pizza stone before adding the dough.
