Description

Indulge in a delectable Puff Pastry Napoleon with Cannoli Filling. This dessert features layers of crisp puff pastry filled with a creamy blend of ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and mini chocolate chips, topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and optional chopped pistachios. Perfect for any occasion, this treat promises to satisfy your sweet cravings with its irresistible flavors and textures.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/4 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Chopped pistachios, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth any creases, then cut into 3 equal rectangles.
  3. Place the rectangles on the prepared baking sheet, prick them all over with a fork, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
  5. To assemble, layer the puff pastry rectangles with the cannoli filling, stacking them one on top of the other.
  6. Dust the top of the Napoleon with powdered sugar and sprinkle with chopped pistachios if desired.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before slicing into portions and serving chilled.

Notes

Ensure the puff pastry is fully cooled before assembling to maintain its crispness.

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less powdered sugar to the filling, based on personal preference.
