1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk
2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in chopped apples.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
