Ingredients
4 ripe bananas, sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup brown sugar
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice and set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Spread the banana slices evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the batter over the bananas, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
