Description
A bright and bubbly party punch made with citrus juices, strawberry drink mix, fizzy lemon-lime soda, and creamy orange sherbet. This refreshing drink is easy to prepare and perfect for gatherings, holidays, and celebrations.
Ingredients
2 cups cold water
1 cup white sugar
6 ounces strawberry-flavored drink mix powder
1 cup orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 liter lemon-lime soda, chilled
1 quart orange sherbet
Instructions
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves to form a simple syrup, then remove from heat.
- Whisk in the strawberry-flavored drink mix powder until fully dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Stir in the orange juice, pineapple juice, and fresh lemon juice.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture until thoroughly chilled.
- Just before serving, pour the chilled mixture into a large punch bowl.
- Add the chilled lemon-lime soda and gently stir to combine while keeping the carbonation.
- Scoop the orange sherbet into the punch bowl and allow it to float and slowly melt, creating a frothy top.
- Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.
Notes
Add fresh fruit slices such as oranges, lemons, strawberries, or pineapple chunks for extra flavor and color.
Raspberry or pineapple sherbet can be used instead of orange sherbet for a different flavor.
For a lighter version, use reduced-sugar drink mix or replace part of the soda with sparkling water.
The punch base can be prepared ahead and refrigerated; add soda and sherbet just before serving.
Store leftovers in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and refresh with a little soda before serving.
