Description

A flaky, golden puff pastry filled with sweetened cream cheese and juicy strawberries, finished with a light glaze. This bakery-style treat is perfect for brunch, dessert, or an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed

1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

4 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp cornstarch

¼ cup powdered sugar

1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with lemon juice and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into four squares (8 total).
  5. Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square, then top with a spoonful of strawberries.
  6. Fold the corners of each pastry toward the center and press gently to seal over the filling.
  7. Transfer pastries to the baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  8. While pastries bake, whisk together powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  9. Allow pastries to cool slightly, then drizzle with the glaze.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use cold puff pastry to ensure it puffs up properly during baking.

Variations include using blueberries, raspberries, or peaches instead of strawberries.

For a citrus twist, add lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate up to 4 days.

Reheat in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 5–8 minutes to restore crispiness.
