Description
A refreshing and fruity homemade Sweet Peach Iced Tea made with real peaches, smooth black tea, and adjustable sweetness. Perfect for warm afternoons, gatherings, or relaxing on the porch.
Ingredients
4 cups water
4 black tea bags
2–3 ripe peaches, sliced (plus extra for garnish)
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 cup peach juice or nectar (optional)
Ice cubes
Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until peaches soften and syrup thickens slightly.
- Gently mash the peaches to release more flavor. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing to extract as much juice as possible. Discard solids and set syrup aside to cool.
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 5–7 minutes depending on desired strength. Remove tea bags and let tea cool to room temperature.
- In a large pitcher, combine cooled tea and peach syrup. Stir in peach juice or nectar if using.
- Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until fully chilled.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh peach slices, mint leaves, or lemon slices if desired.
Notes
Adjust sugar to control sweetness.
Frozen peaches can be used; thaw before making syrup.
For a lighter flavor, substitute green tea for black tea.
Add freshly squeezed lemon juice for a tangy twist.
For a sparkling version, replace part of the tea with chilled sparkling water before serving.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and stir before serving.
