Description

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk (or preferred milk)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup pumpkin puree

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

3 tbsp granulated sugar (or to taste)

1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Optional toppings: whipped cream, cinnamon


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, heavy cream, pumpkin puree, cocoa powder, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice over medium heat until smooth.
  2. Heat, stirring frequently, until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Reduce heat to low and stir in chocolate chips until fully melted and thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and cinnamon, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute milk and cream with almond, oat, or coconut milk.
