Description

These juicy turkey burgers are a healthier alternative to traditional beef burgers, made with ground turkey, fresh herbs, and a blend of seasonings. Perfect for grilling or pan-frying, these turkey burgers are tender, moist, and full of flavor. Serve them on a bun with your favorite toppings for a satisfying meal that everyone will love.

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

Olive oil, for cooking

4 burger buns

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, pickles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Turkey Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, Parmesan cheese, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overworking the mixture to prevent tough burgers.
  2. Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, slightly larger than your buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.
  3. Cook the Burgers: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Toast the buns if desired. Place cooked turkey patties on the buns and top with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, or pickles.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately with side dishes such as sweet potato fries, a salad, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

If using ground chicken, follow the same instructions for a slightly leaner option.

To make the recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or alternative binders such as almond flour.

These burgers can be prepped ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours or frozen for later use.
