Description

Indulge in the rich and tropical flavors of a Coconut Dome with Chocolate Spread. This elegant dessert combines creamy coconut with a luscious chocolate topping, making it perfect for special occasions or as a sweet treat. Easy to prepare with simple ingredients, this coconut dome dessert will impress your guests and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

For the Coconut Dome:

2 cups shredded coconut

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup coconut cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Chocolate Spread:

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Coconut Dome:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, coconut cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
    • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a dome. Place on a lined baking sheet.
    • Refrigerate the domes for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Spread:
    • Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat.
    • Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, and honey (if using) to the cream. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
    • Allow the chocolate spread to cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Dessert:
    • Once the coconut domes are firm, spoon or drizzle the chocolate spread over the top of each dome, letting it cascade down the sides.
    • Return the domes to the refrigerator to set the chocolate for about 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a less sweet version, use unsweetened shredded coconut and adjust the sweetened condensed milk to taste.

The chocolate spread can be made without honey if you prefer a more intense chocolate flavor.

These domes can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
