Description

These Garlic Bread Rolls are the perfect combination of fluffy, buttery rolls with a burst of garlic and herbs. Soft and golden, they’re ideal for pairing with pasta, soups, or any meal. Infused with fresh garlic, parsley, and melted butter, these rolls are the ultimate comfort food side dish. Easy to make and irresistible, they’ll quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for dough)

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the Dough: Add flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth, or knead in a stand mixer on medium speed for 5 minutes.
  3. First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare Garlic Butter: Mix olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.
  5. Shape the Rolls: Punch down the dough and divide into 12 pieces. Shape each into a ball and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (optional).
  6. Second Rise: Cover rolls and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
  7. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Finish with Butter: Brush the hot rolls with the remaining melted butter before serving.

Notes

For a stronger garlic flavor, add a bit of garlic powder on top before baking.

Rolls can be made ahead and refrigerated after shaping. Let them come to room temperature before the second rise and baking.

To make these rolls even richer, sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese after baking.
