Description
Rich, chewy, and deeply chocolatey, these Greek Yogurt Brownies are a delicious twist on a classic dessert. Greek yogurt creates an incredibly moist, tender, and fudgy texture while keeping the recipe simple and satisfying.
Ingredients
3/4 cup chocolate, melted and cooled
1 cup + 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, sifted
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Sift the cocoa powder into a small bowl.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Let cool for about 2 minutes.
- Stir the Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and sugar into the melted chocolate until smooth.
- Add the flour, sifted cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently until just combined with no dry streaks remaining.
- Mix in the milk and fold in the chocolate chips, if using. The batter should be thick but pourable.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into 16 squares.
Notes
Use dark chocolate for a richer chocolate flavor.
Fold in chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
Add 1 teaspoon espresso powder to intensify the chocolate taste.
Try white chocolate chips or peanut butter chips for a fun variation.
Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the batter before baking for a sweet-and-salty finish.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Warm frozen or chilled brownies in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds before serving.
