Description

Rich, chewy, and deeply chocolatey, these Greek Yogurt Brownies are a delicious twist on a classic dessert. Greek yogurt creates an incredibly moist, tender, and fudgy texture while keeping the recipe simple and satisfying.

Ingredients

3/4 cup chocolate, melted and cooled

1 cup + 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, sifted

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Sift the cocoa powder into a small bowl.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Let cool for about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir the Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and sugar into the melted chocolate until smooth.
  4. Add the flour, sifted cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently until just combined with no dry streaks remaining.
  5. Mix in the milk and fold in the chocolate chips, if using. The batter should be thick but pourable.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into 16 squares.

Notes

Use dark chocolate for a richer chocolate flavor.

Fold in chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch.

Add 1 teaspoon espresso powder to intensify the chocolate taste.

Try white chocolate chips or peanut butter chips for a fun variation.

Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the batter before baking for a sweet-and-salty finish.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Warm frozen or chilled brownies in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds before serving.
