Ingredients
1 box yellow cake mix
6 cups blackberries
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the dry yellow cake mix evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the blackberries evenly over the cake mix.
- Sprinkle sugar over the berries, adjusting to taste.
- Pour the water over the mixture and gently shake the pan to help the liquid settle.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and distribute evenly over the top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
